The Kit is suitable for the detection of iron in biopsy specimens, like ferritin sediment in bone biopsy specimens. The acid solution of ferrocyanide in acid environment reacts in presence of reactive ferric-iron making an insoluble blue precipitate (Prussian blue). Nuclear contrast stain supplied by Kernechtrot.
